She led a walk around Zennor, scene of her ( I think!) most wonderful book...and also gave a briliant talk in the town.
I help with Chester Lit Fest and always think how lovely if Ms Dunmore took part...
She's a lovely calm creative lady and I'd love to know when next she publishes another book..
**As you see I have a blog . It's just in my 1st name and I keep it that way. I'm not a great guns at posting stuff but I do enjoy it. Hope you appear one day!***Janhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08627338108089464863noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-759802438862174539.post-56082159612099805732009-11-01T06:27:05.210-08:002009-11-01T06:27:05.210-08:00What a fascinating account, Jo. And as for inadvertently jumping a queue, I have a habit of doing that and yes, it's so embarrassing. People look as if they want to kill you. Not done it in the book-signing queue, though. Last time was at a market stall with a cabbage in my hand.Sally Zigmondhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07520579251842006765noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-759802438862174539.post-2227059231886597322009-10-23T04:02:34.753-07:002009-10-23T04:02:34.753-07:00I'd love to meet Helen Dunmore, Jo. I loved her early novels, but haven't been too keen on her later ones.Johttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10680813337238122710noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-759802438862174539.post-36738786396664739222009-10-23T03:29:53.075-07:002009-10-23T03:29:53.075-07:00Thanks Jo, your blogs are almost as good as being ...Thanks Jo, your blogs are almost as good as being there! I must try reading some more crime fiction...
Helen Dunmore was an excellent speaker in Wells, btw, even though her latest book (about Catullus) wasn't anyone's favourite (a special book group-oriented event). A lovely woman and it was good to get the chance to talk to her afterwards.lifemodelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06085439146192944034noreply@blogger.com
